Ask your printer or designer for image requirements before placing photographs or illustrations. Resolution depends on the image’s printed dimensions, color treatment and production method. Enlarging a small file does not create missing detail and can make artifacts more visible.
Keep original high-quality files and avoid repeatedly saving compressed images. Review a print proof under good light to check sharpness and contrast. If an image cannot meet the specification, consider replacing it, reducing its size or adjusting the page design.
