Review a Printed Proof Copy Before Approving Publication

A physical proof reveals paper, trim, binding and color issues that may not be obvious in a digital preview.

Read the proof in ordinary lighting and handle it as a reader would. Check margins near the spine, page order, cover alignment, image sharpness and any pages with dense text. Mark corrections clearly and distinguish production errors from optional editorial revisions.

After changes are made, review the updated proof or final digital file according to the printer’s process. Approval should be based on the exact version planned for publication. A careful proof review protects both presentation and reader confidence.
